Connie Di Cicco

Georgia WIN List is thrilled to endorse Connie Di Cicco as she runs for House District 44, a Cobb County district which includes Kennesaw.

She would be well suited for legislative service, having spent the past two years working as Chief of Staff for HD 37 Rep. Mary Frances Williams, which gave her a front row seat for what happens under the Gold Dome and informs her perspective on what needs to change.

Connie grew up in a close-knit Roswell, Georgia family which still lives within an hour of each other. Her family valued hard work, accountability, and humor and spent weekends helping in her father’s construction business. She says her parents instilled in her the value of “leaving things better than you found them,” and she is passing these lessons along to her own children.

She attended public schools and graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Georgia. She met her husband at Florida State, where they both received Masters degrees in Film-making. Her professional background is in documentary film, and this work is the foundation of her advocacy work.

“This campaign is about the stories we’re listening to, the people who are telling them, and the questions they’re asking,” she says. “This is about moving Georgia out of the dark ages and being progressive: pro-choice, pro-equality, pro-gay marriage. This is about leaving things better than we found them – accessible, affordable healthcare, protecting our environment, and providing quality education to all our students.”

Connie doesn’t believe in leaving people out, or in people being left behind. “We succeed when we’re part of a community, when we’re together,” she said. “Being together means healthcare, education and equal justice. People should love who they want. All faces are beautiful and we all get a say. We should listen to each other. We should see each other and celebrate each other. That is how we win – together.”

Connie is running in a district which hasn’t elected a new representative in 26 years because she believes representation matters and it’s time for change and compassion in House District 44.
